YOUNG PEOPLE ADDRESSING HATE SPEECH FROM AN INTERRELIGIOUS PERSPECTIVE

DO YOU WANT TO CHALLENGE THE HATE?
The Ecumenical Youth Council in Europe together with Religions for Peace-European Interfaith Youth network and Forum of Muslim Youth and Student organisations is organising a study session to empower young people from various religious communities to combat hate speech by promoting and implementing dialogue between religious communities and secular society. You are invited to join us from 29th June - 6th July, 2014 in European Youth Centre in Budapest, Hungary for a week of active and practical study session!
Media, especially on-line media and forums provide detachment and anonymity to encourage and hide the actors sporting discriminatory actions and forms of communication. Often the the religious communities that are a target of hate speech and different forms of hatred, which lead to exclusion and violence, need to be equipped with relevant knowledge and tools to be able to react adequately, as well as to actively engage against hate speech, discrimination and promoting diversity and inclusion! We, young people from different religious communities in Europe can make a change through actively engaging our communities!

“SAY NO TO HATE!” is designed to help you to do so.
What will you get when you come? An encouraging learning environment where you will share and learn; enriching talks from experts; hands-on workshops that will provide you with tools to run projects on personal, local as well as global levels; a broader and deeper understanding of hate speech, freedom of speech and Human Rights; the possibility to see the world through the lens of other cultures; and an opportunity to build friendships with people who will support you in your work to improve conditions in your home community and abroad.
If you have a deep conviction that all human beings deserve respect and dignity, and a desire to help them claim it, then join us for a week-long journey of growth and sharing!

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY THERE IS NOT ENOUGH?

The Ecumenical Youth Council in Europe is organizing a training course to help young people to be an active part of the society they live in and to challenge one of the heaviest global problems today - poverty!
You are invited to join us from 13th - 20th of April 2014 in Sofia, Bulgaria for a week of active and practical training!
The recent financial and socio-economic crisis in Europe has revealed that lack of employment is only the top of the iceberg of very complex underlying socio-economic issues, one of them being poverty. Despite of the focus on developing countries, when speaking of absolute poverty, tackling the theme of poverty would be incomplete without taking into account our nearest neighbors in need. Learning to see those in need, learning to identify patterns that sustain poverty, realising the connections from poverty to other issues, such as health, education and more, and finally - showing solidarity are the key things to be able to eradicate poverty on the grassroots level in Europe!
As Christians we believe that every single person has been created in image of God, thus with full dignity. Living in poverty means that the dignity is taken away. We must act!

"POVERTY EXPOSED" is designed to help you to do so.
What will you gain by coming to this training course? SwopShop 2014, 30/04 - 4/05/2014, Budapest, HUN

SwopShop for Youth and Children’s Workers

What is Swop-Shop?
Every 3 years youth and children’s workers from all over Europe are invited to “SwopShop”. The main focus of this conference is to come together and share ideas and experiences from your own youth and children’s groups and to learn through the experiences of others. As a result everyone goes home inspired with new ideas!
As participants are coming from different countries, there will be many interesting things to learn from one another. This year’s theme is: “All in God‘s Family – alle in Gottes Familie!”

Where, when and how much?
We will be hosted by the Methodist Church in Hungary and staying in a guesthouse provided by the Hungarian Lutheran Church near Budapest. Accommodation will generally be in twin rooms with the option to share with others or not.
Travel to Budapest at participant’s own expense, contact organisers for travel subsidy. Transfer to the guesthouse will be arranged.
Participants can arrive from 30th April onwards, departures on 4th May.

SwopShop für Kinder- und Teenie-Mitarbeitende

Was ist SwopShop?
Alle 3 Jahre sind Mitarbeitende aus verschiedenen europäischen Ländern zum ‚SwopShop‘ eingeladen.
Bei diesem Treffen für Kinder- und Teenie-Mitarbeitende geht es darum, Ideen und Erfahrungen aus der eigenen Arbeit mit Kindern und jüngeren Teenagern mitzubringen, sich darüber auszutauschen und gemeinsam weiter zu bilden. So fährt am Ende jede und jeder mit vielen neuen Anregungen inspiriert nach Hause.
Da die Teilnehmenden aus unterschiedlichen Ländern kommen, werden wir sicherlich viel Interessantes voneinander erfahren. In diesem Jahr lautet das Motto: „All in God‘s Family – alle in Gottes Familie!“!

Wo, wann und wieviel?
Wir sind in der Ev.-methodistischen Kirche in Ungarn zu Gast und tagen in einem Gästehaus der ungarischen lutherischen Kirche in der Nähe von Budapest, wo wir in der Regel in Zweibettzimmern mit Bad unterkommen. Eigene Anreise nach Budapest + Shuttle zum Gästehaus.
Mindestteilnehmerzahl: 3 Kinder-/Teeniemitarbeitende aus Deutschland müssen bis zum 31.03.14 erreicht werden

DO YOU WANT TO MAKE A CHANGE IN SOCIETY? The Ecumenical Youth Council in Europe is organising a training course to help people of different age groups to tackle the social and economic challenges they face today. You are invited to join us from 19th to 26th January 2014 in Malaga, Spain for week of active and practical training!

The financial crisis in Europe has resulted in difficult times. Unemployment and poverty threaten the human dignity of both young people and people of other age groups. Based on our Christian belief that all people were created equal, we are called to help the oppressed to claim what is theirs by right. We, young Christians can achieve this through actively participating in society.

“LOOKING FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE!” is designed to help you to do so.

What will you get when you come? An encouraging learning environment where you will share and learn; enriching talks from experts; hands-on workshops that will provide you with tools to run projects on personal, local as well as global levels; a broader and deeper understanding of solidarity; the possibility to see the world through the lens of other cultures; and an opportunity to build friendships with people who will support you in your work to improve conditions in your home society and abroad.

If you have a deep conviction that all human beings deserve respect and dignity, and a desire to help them claim it, then join us for a week-long journey of growth and sharing!
